The Danish playground manufacturing company Kompan's 'Miram' play feature provides a coaster-like experience to a child seated on one of its two tracks; kids can also stand up for a skateboard-like ride.

Os designers Zoe Miller e David Goodman da Millergoodman mostram na feira de interiores de Londres, Home, seu novo set de blocos de montar. O Facemaker tem 25 blocos diferentes que podem ser combinados para montar  inúmeras faces. 

Brighton designers Zoe Miller and David Goodman of Millergoodman will present their hand-printed wooden blocks for constructing pictures of faces at new domestic interiors show Home in London. The FaceMaker toy features 25 different blocks that can be combined to make endless characters.

Os editores do blog francês E-Glue criaram uma nova peça de mobília para quartos de crianças. O Quackie ainda não tem uma empresa interessada em produzi-lo, mas espero que não demore muito para que possamos ver esse baú ao vivo.

The folks behind french blog E-Glue created a new piece of furniture for kids' rooms. Quackie the toy chest still doesn't have a manufacturer interested in producing it. I hope it will not take long, it's an amazing piece, isn't it?

A Swedish Free School Organization Vittra não acredita em classes. Isso mesmo que você pensou: não há paredes internas no edifício escolar.

O princípio pedagógico da escola baseia-se em grupos de estudo: ’the wateringhole’, ’the show-off’, ’the cave’, ’the campfire’ e ’the laboratory’, ou seja, diferentes módulos de ensino e aprendizagem para diferentes ocasiões.

The Swedish Free School Organization Vittra operates by the philosophy that there are no classes or classrooms. That's right, this means that the school house has no interior walls – instead, the students are taught in groups according to level based on the school’s pedagogical principles of ’the wateringhole’, ’the show-off’, ’the cave’, ’the campfire’ and ’the laboratory’ – didactic approaches that create different types of learning and teaching situations.

Minakani é um estúdio em Paris que pertence a Frédéric Bonnin e Cécile Figuette. Juntos eles criam estampas para tecidos. Dois anos atrás eles começaram uma linha de papel de paredes com tamanhos customizados e impressos em papel de alta qualidade.
Olha só essa estampa para quarto de crianças. Poderia ser somente mais uma se a escala fosse pequenininha e do tipo meiga, mas quando eles explodiram o desenho, virou um mural, uma obra de arte. 

Minakani is a Paris based studio owned by Frédéric Bonnin and Cécile Figuette. Together they create patterns, mainly for textile. They've launched a wall decor line two years ago and now they offer custom size and exclusive motifs printed onto high quality non-woven paper. By enlarging what could be just another ordinary cute drawing, they make a strong statement, a mural of art.

Panoptes foi criada por um casal, Sávio e Irmina, que é polonesa. Os dois vivem em Brasília.

Depois da chegada da Yasmin, eles decidiram mudar suas carreiras e passar mais tempo com a filha. Que decisão maravilhosa!

Esse casal talentoso agora fotografa o mundo infantil como eu nunca havia visto antes. Não espere o esperado em seu trabalho e seja surpreendido pelo seu olhar.

Panoptes is a joint creation by husband and wife. Sávio is brazilian and Irmina polish, both living in Brazil's capital Brasilia. 

After the arrival of baby Yasmin, they wanted spend time with her and their careers changed, thank God!

This talented couple now photographs with pizazz the world of our kiddos like I haven't seen before. Don't expect plainness in their projects and be surprised by their eye.

Boy, I wish I had known them when Fofoquinha and Matraca-Trica were born.

Virginie Dreyer é a pessoa por trás do projeto Tiny-us, dedicado a arrecadar fundos para Présence, um instituto educacional para crianças especiais.

A escola fica no sul da França, em La Seyne sur Mer, e abriga 85 crianças, adolescentes e jovens adultos entre 4 e 20 anos com problemas mentais.

Para celebrar o ano novo, Virginie aproveitou a idéia das bonecas de recortar para fazer um calendário. Não ficou fofo demais?

Do you remember the Tiny Us project that I showed here before?

A paragraph (or two) to remind you:

Virginie Dreyer is the person behind the Tiny-us project, a creative charity project dedicated to raising funds for Présence, an educational institute for young handicapped individuals.

The school is located in the south of France in La Seyne sur Mer and caters for 85 children, adolescent and young adults between the age of 4 and 20 who have different degrees of mental retardation ranging from moderate to the more profound.

To celebrate 2012 she created a paper doll calendar. When the year is over, you have two adorable dolls and a lot of outfits to play with. How cool is that?

Cubelets são blocos magnéticos que podem ser combinados em uma infinita variedade de robôs, sem programação pré-determinada ou fios. Pode-se construir robôs que navegam em superfícies, respondem à estímulos como luz, temperatura e som.
Cada Cubelet no kit tem um comportamento diferente. Existem os Sense Blocks que agem como nossos olhos e ouvidos, Action blocks e Think blocks.
Só assistindo o vídeo para se ter uma boa idéia de como essa idéia é genial.

Cubelets are magnetic blocks that can be snapped together to make an endless variety of robots with no programming and no wires. You can build robots that drive around on a tabletop, respond to light, sound, and temperature, and have surprisingly lifelike behavior. But instead of programming that behavior, you snap the cubelets together and watch the behavior emerge like with a flock of birds or a swarm of bees.

Each cubelet in the kit has different equipment on board and a different default behavior. There are Sense Blocks that act like our eyes and ears, Action blocks, and Think blocks. Just like with people, the senses are the inputs to the system.

yayoi kusama

Pois é assim mesmo que eu vejo o ano novo: uma enorme tela a ser preenchida com nossas experiências.

Em Dezembro de 2011, a artista plástica Yayoi Kusama fez uma instalação no Queensland Art Gallery Children’s Art Centre na Austrália. A cena é a do interior de uma casa onde todas as superfícies foram pintadas de branco, tornando os elementos em uma tela gigante.

Durante duas semanas, as crianças que visitaram o museu ganharam milhares de adesivos de bolinhas para transformar o espaço em uma explosão de cores. A instalação, chamada de The Obliteration Room, faz parte da mostra Look Now, See Forever , que vai até 12 de Março.

Espero que 2012 seja cheio de energia positiva quanto essa obra de arte!

Now, that's how I see the new year. A giant canvas that will be filled with our experiences over time. White, in Brazil, is a mandatory color for new year's eve, symbolizing peace.

In December 2011, artist Yayoi Kusama constructed, at the Queensland Art Gallery Children’s Art Centre in Australia, a large domestic environment.  Every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration was painted a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas. 

Over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color. The installation, entitled The Obliteration Room, is part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition that runs through March 12. 

May 2012 be as colorful as this installation. Cheers.

Toby Dutkiewicz apresenta uma coleção de toyart para Lego. Difícil resistir à tentação quando se trabalha como diretor de arte para a marca de brinquedos. Infelizmente esses modelos são só protótipos, não existe plano para produção.

Toby Dutkiewicz shares his exceptional and inspirational imagery - of art toys crossing over with LEGO. Hard to resist when you're an art director for the brand. Sadly these are prototypes with no predetermined plans to manifest unto production figures.

Eu nunca aprovei sapatinhos de bebê, eu sempre acreditei em meinhas ou pés descalços para que eles aprendam a andar como se deve.

Confesso que quando vi essas fofurinhas da Coral & Tusk eu derreti. Além dos sapatinhos, a loja online também tem ilustrações, almofadas, bonequinhos de pano e várias outras coisinhas bacanas.

I must say I've never been found of baby shoes. I do believe in socks and bare feet, but when I saw these ones from Coral & Tusk I melted. besides baby shoes they carry pillows, prints, pocket dolls and many more cool little itens.
