Laura nasceu na California, foi criada em Nova York, hoje mora em Hong Kong via Londres e tem marido suíço e dois filhos.
Ela diz que "Como eu assisto a infância de nossos filhos se desdobrar aqui na Ásia, cercados pela influência internacional de uma mãe americana e pai suíço, vejo em suas vidas um espelho da visão que eu tenho para a Velveteen".

And look who won the Junior Design Awards 2014 for Best International Fashion Brand: Velveteen. The images are from the fall/winter 14 collection.
Laura is a California-born and New-York-educated, making a home in Hong Kong by way of London with a Swiss husband and two children.
She says that "As I watch our children’s childhood unfold here in Asia, surrounded by the international influence of an American mother and a Swiss father, I see in their lives a mirror of the vision I have for Velveteen".
