A idéia para The Milk Bar veio das experiências de Kiersten Pilar Miller, nascida e criada em New York, onde trabalhava como assistente de direção. Ela veio a Roma para trabalhar, apaixonou-se por seu marido romano e engravidou. Quando sua filha nasceu, ela olhou para os sutiãs de amamentação em Roma e para seu horror não encontrou nada decente.
Em 2010 abriu a loja em Roma cheia de cheia de sutiãs de amamentação sensuais e roupas para as mulheres grávidas, assim como acessórios e mobília. O Milk Bar cresceu e uma segunda loja abriu em Milão, onde ela foi capaz de criar um espaço mais abrangente, oferecendo os mesmos produtos, mas incorporando cursos e sessões de informação que Miller havia procurado durante a gravidez e fases iniciais da maternidade.

The idea for The Milk Bar came from the experiences of Kiersten Pilar Miller, a born and raised New York City girl who worked in film production as an Assistant Director. She came to Rome to work, fell in love with her Roman husband and got joyously pregnant. When her daughter was born she looked for nursing bras in Rome and to her horror found nothing good.
In 2010 the store filled with sexy nursing bras and cool styles for pregnant women to portable diaper changing stations to diaper bags opened in Rome. The Milk Bar grew into a second store in Milan where they were able to create a more comprehensive space, offering the same great products but incorporating the courses and information sessions that Kiersten had searched for during her pregnancy and initial phases of motherhood.
